“Somebody needs to do something about North Main!”  I heard it again and again, as I stumped door to door throughout 2003 – 16 years ago. The concern came from Sheridan folks from all parts of town – a neighborly concern for a vital part of our community.

“Do something” became the North Main Revitalization Initiative. It started with neighborhood meetings – close the street, cook a few burgers and brats and listen to the answers to 3 important questions: What do you like about your neighborhood? What do you not like? What would you like to see your neighborhood become?

From that was compiled the vision that guides our efforts today, updated from time to time with the same neighbor to neighbor spirit. From an ad hoc group of friends and neighbors the North Main Association was born, dedicated to championing the revitalization of a key neighborhood of the place we call home, Sheridan.
